Space Arcade is a free online HTML5 space shooter game created by Defuse2k, a solo indie developer from India.
After years of working a traditional 9â5 job, I wanted to return to my passion: building games.
Space Arcade was created in just two weeks, using HTML5 and JavaScript, as a personal challenge to rebuild my creative momentum.
Why I Built This Game
I wanted:
- A hobby outside work
- A project that challenged my coding skills
- A fast-paced arcade game inspired by classic space shooters
Space Arcade features:
- đŽ Multiple boss battles (3 unique bosses)
- đ Endless gameplay with scaling difficulty
- ⥠Power-ups: Shield, Rapid Fire, and Triple Shot
- đšī¸ Mobile, keyboard, mouse, and gamepad support
- đĩ 4 background music tracks
- â¤ī¸ 3-heart health system
The Vision
This is just the beginning.
Future plans include:
- More boss types and enemy variations
- More space-themed games
- Global leaderboards
- Performance optimizations (especially for mobile users)
- Community features and multiplayer modes
